OpenAI is considering offering its AI infrastructure, including data centre access, to other companies. This move could generate revenue and prevent the company's IP from being learned by external parties.

CFO Sarah Friar likened the potential service to Amazon Web Services, but clarified that it is not an immediate plan. CEO Sam Altman has previously stated that OpenAI will spend trillions on data centres. OpenAI is already working with partners like Microsoft and Oracle on data centre projects such as the Stargate initiative, which includes building a 4.5 gigawatt data centre in the United States. They are also exploring expanding Stargate internationally.

OpenAI's infrastructure expansion includes a partnership with Oracle to develop significant data centre capacity in the US, aiming to boost AI capabilities and create jobs. The company is also collaborating with SoftBank on new data centre designs and has a memorandum of understanding with the UK government to collaborate on AI adoption and infrastructure.
