What happened
Synthesia launched Roleplay Sessions, an interactive training product enabling employees to practice high-stakes conversations with AI avatars that provide real-time pushback and score performance against a rubric. This initial release under the broader "Sessions" platform will expand to include job interviews and candidate screening. Early commercial rollouts include one of the top three companies by market cap in Europe, one of the top five Fortune 100, and one of the biggest recruitment companies in the world, per a company spokesperson. Synthesia CEO Victor Riparbelli stated the product moves beyond video content generation to focus on measurable behavioural change.
Why it matters
This shift redefines AI training from content delivery to measurable performance management. Procurement teams evaluating AI spend can now access concrete metrics on behavioural change, moving beyond engagement data. Security architects must consider new data streams from interactive roleplay, including performance analytics and rubrics, for compliance and privacy. For founders in the enterprise AI space, this demonstrates a path to defensibility by integrating proprietary analytics and performance data with underlying frontier models, addressing the increasing demand for demonstrable return on investment from AI deployments.
