What happened
Researchers from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center presented an AI-guided technique at the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery's 23rd Annual Meeting, enhancing targeted therapy delivery for malignant brain tumours. The AI identifies all tumour-feeding arterial pedicles, enabling physicians to deliver tailored therapy to each vessel. This multi-pedicle approach achieved over 85% tumour coverage in three patients, significantly exceeding the less than 65% coverage from traditional single-artery methods, and proved safely repeatable.
