Google is rolling out Gemini to the Google TV Streamer, replacing Google Assistant and enabling more natural voice interactions. Users can now ask conversational questions to find content, research topics, and even get help with DIY projects. Gemini provides a full-screen interface for responses and allows for follow-up questions.
The upgrade allows users to ask questions like, "I like dramas but my wife likes comedies, what's a movie we can watch together?" or "Explain why volcanoes erupt to my third grader". Gemini can also guide users through DIY projects with supporting YouTube videos. To access Gemini, users can press the microphone button on their Google TV Streamer remote.
The rollout has commenced and will continue over the next few weeks. Users can manage their preferences in Settings or the Google Home app. Gemini for Google TV first launched in September on select TCL devices.
