Meta has partnered with Oakley to release a new line of AI-powered smart glasses aimed at athletes. The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, priced from $399, feature an upgraded 12MP camera capable of recording 3K video, a significant improvement over the 1080p resolution of previous Meta smart glasses. Battery life has also been doubled, offering up to eight hours of typical use and 19 hours on standby. A charging case provides an additional 40 hours of on-the-go charging, reaching 50% capacity in just 22 minutes.
The glasses incorporate Meta AI, enabling users to ask questions, record hands-free video, and access information. Built-in open-ear speakers, five microphones, and Bluetooth connectivity support calls, messaging, and music playback. The design includes Oakley's Prizm lenses for UV protection and an IPX4 water resistance rating.
The Oakley Meta HSTN Limited Edition, featuring gold accents and 24K Prizm Polar lenses, will be available from July 11 for $499, preceding the broader launch of the standard models this summer. These glasses represent Meta's expansion into performance-focused wearables, combining Oakley's design with Meta's AI and spatial computing advancements.
