AI recruiting start-up Alex has secured $17 million in Series A funding, spearheaded by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Y Combinator and other investors. Alex intends to use the funds to further develop its AI-powered platform, which automates initial job screening via AI. The platform conducts thousands of automated screening calls daily for major corporations, handling tasks such as background checks and salary negotiations.
Alex's technology aims to streamline the candidate screening process for large companies, potentially reducing the workload on human recruiters. The voice AI is designed to conduct initial interviews, signalling a shift in large-scale hiring practices. Several Fortune 500 CHROs participated directly in the funding round.
The company's platform is already conducting thousands of interviews daily for Fortune 100 companies. Alex is an 18-month-old startup from Y Combinator. The funding validates the growing role of AI in recruitment.
