Jules AI Coding Agent Released

Google has launched Jules, its AI coding agent, out of beta after a public preview period. Powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, Jules integrates with GitHub, enabling users to clone codebases to Google Cloud virtual machines and autonomously fix or update code. The tool supports parallel task execution and aims to streamline software development by addressing bottlenecks such as code refactoring and bug fixes.

Jules features a redesigned user interface, improved stability, and multimodal support, allowing it to test web applications and display visual previews. Google is also introducing structured pricing tiers. An introductory access plan is available for free, with a limit of 15 daily tasks and three concurrent tasks. Paid Pro and Ultra tiers are offered at £15.87 and £98.47 per month, respectively, providing higher task limits.

Google plans to use Jules in its internal coding projects, highlighting its confidence in the tool. Jules works asynchronously, cloning databases to Google Cloud, which enhances security by preventing direct alterations to live systems until users are ready.
