Delta Air Lines has responded to criticism from U.S. lawmakers by pledging not to employ artificial intelligence for personalised ticket pricing. The airline clarified that its ticket prices are driven by market dynamics and vigorous competition, and personal data is never factored into pricing.
While Delta intends to implement AI-powered revenue management across 20% of its domestic network by the end of 2025, in partnership with Fetcherr, the airline insists this will not involve setting individual prices based on personal data. Senators have voiced concerns regarding data privacy and potential fare increases, seeking further clarity on Delta's data collection practices.
