Yahoo Mail Embraces AI

Yahoo Mail Embraces AI

12 June 2025

Yahoo Mail is integrating new AI-powered features aimed at attracting Gen Z and Millennial users. The update, which includes a 'Catch Up' feature exclusive to the mobile app, provides AI-generated summaries of emails, allowing users to quickly delete or keep messages. This 'game-like' experience is designed to combat inbox overload, addressing the fact that nearly half of younger users have missed important events due to disorganized inboxes, despite checking their email multiple times daily.

To mark the launch, Yahoo Mail is collaborating with Anti Social Social Club on a limited-edition clothing line, the 'Anti Email Email Club'. This collection aims to promote a less stressful email experience. The AI features also include quick actions for managing bills, tracking packages, and adding events to calendars directly from the inbox.

Yahoo's strategy involves modernising its services with AI, referencing early internet culture to appeal to both Gen Z and older generations. The company aims to position itself as a blend of nostalgia and innovation, offering a more personalised and enjoyable internet experience.
