TikTok is introducing a new feature that allows users to control the amount of AI-generated content they see in their 'For You' feed. This feature, located in the 'Manage Topics' section, lets users adjust their preferences for AI content, similar to how they currently manage other content categories like dance, sports, and food. The goal is to provide a more personalised experience, allowing users who enjoy AI content to see more of it, while those who prefer less can reduce its presence.
In addition to content control, TikTok is also working on improving its AI-generated content labelling. The platform is testing 'invisible watermarks' that are difficult to remove, providing an extra layer of security. This complements the existing Content Credentials system, which adds metadata to AI-generated content. These measures aim to address the challenges of detecting AI content that has been edited or re-shared.
Tiktok requires creators to label realistic AI content, and is investing in AI-powered experiences, and transparency tools. These updates reflect TikTok's commitment to transparency and user choice in the face of the increasing volume of AI-generated content on the platform.
