OpenEvidence, an AI platform designed to assist medical professionals, has secured $200 million in funding, achieving a valuation of $6 billion. This nearly doubles its valuation from July. The platform offers a 'ChatGPT-like' tool that synthesises medical research to help doctors with diagnoses.
The platform is trained using medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. OpenEvidence is accessible to verified medical professionals for free and is supported by advertising. The company reports supporting approximately 15 million clinical consultations monthly, a significant increase from 8.5 million in July.
OpenEvidence's AI is designed to provide evidence-based answers, streamlining access to medical knowledge and helping physicians make informed decisions. The platform has strategic content partnerships with medical journals. The funding will be used to expand its library of medical knowledge.
