1001 AI, founded by a former Scale AI executive, has raised $9 million in seed funding to develop AI infrastructure for critical industries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The funding round was led by CIV, General Catalyst, and Lux Capital.
The London-Dubai based startup focuses on sectors such as aviation, logistics, energy, and government services. 1001 AI aims to improve efficiency by creating an AI-native operating system for decision-making. The company plans to launch its first product by the end of the year and is in discussions with construction firms and airports in the Gulf region regarding potential partnerships.
The company's focus is on automating complex operational workflows across industries. The MENA region presents a significant opportunity, with AI projected to contribute $320 billion to the regional economy by 2030.
