Ring is partnering with Flock Safety, integrating its Community Requests feature with Flock's software platforms. This integration enables local public safety agencies using Flock's technology to request video footage from Ring users during investigations. Ring customers can then choose to share footage or ignore the request.
Flock Safety provides security solutions to law enforcement, businesses, and neighbourhoods. Their technology includes AI-powered cameras that capture license plates and other vehicle details. This data is then logged in a searchable database and compared against watchlists, alerting authorities to potential matches. Flock's systems are used for real-time crime prevention and evidence collection.
Through Ring's Community Requests, law enforcement can post details of an investigation, including location, timeframe and a unique investigation code, on the Ring Neighbors app. Ring users can anonymously view the request and decide whether to share relevant footage. If a user chooses to share, Flock securely packages the footage and delivers it to the requesting agency via FlockOS or Flock Nova platforms.
