What happened
Delhi Technological University (DTU) and TimesPro launched an Advanced Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence, a six-month, CTEL-led initiative. The programme blends machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, featuring hands-on projects and a three-day campus immersion. It covers end-to-end AI system design using Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, alongside core neural network architectures like CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, GANs, VAEs, and GNNs. Aimed at engineering, IT, and mathematics graduates and working professionals, the 110-hour curriculum delivers online instruction and self-paced study, culminating in a DTU-issued certification.
Why it matters
This programme addresses a critical talent gap as organisations accelerate AI adoption. Global AI market projections indicate growth from $189 billion in 2023 to $4.8 trillion by 2033, per UN Trade and Development. 88% of organisations now use AI in at least one business function. India's AI talent pool is projected to grow to over 1.25 million by 2027, a 15% CAGR. This structured upskilling pathway provides platform engineers, data scientists, and software professionals with practical capabilities to design and deploy intelligent systems, directly impacting project timelines and solution quality.
