Cohere, the Canadian AI business solutions provider, has secured an additional $100 million in funding, boosting its valuation to $7 billion. This investment comes shortly after a $500 million raise in August. The funding round saw AMD join as both an investor and technology partner.
Under the expanded partnership, Cohere's AI models will leverage AMD's Instinct GPUs. AMD will also integrate Cohere's North platform across its enterprise portfolio. Cohere focuses on AI sovereignty, enabling enterprises to maintain local control over their data and models. The company has nearly tripled its annualised revenue this year.
Cohere's strategic focus involves hardware-software synergy to deliver scalable and efficient AI solutions. The company's key customers include Fujitsu, Bell, and the Royal Bank of Canada. Cohere also signed a non-binding agreement with the Canadian federal government to integrate its technology into public service operations.
