Google's Gemini for Government

22 August 2025

Google has launched 'Gemini for Government', offering AI and cloud services to US federal agencies for a nominal fee of $0.47 per agency annually. This initiative aims to accelerate AI adoption across government sectors, aligning with the OneGov Strategy and the US AI Action Plan.

The 'Gemini for Government' plan includes access to Google's Gemini AI models, agentic solutions, enterprise search, NotebookLM, Veo, and AI agents for deep research. These tools are designed to optimise workflows and enhance productivity within government agencies. The platform is built with FedRAMP High-authorised security and compliance features to protect sensitive government data.

This move positions Google alongside OpenAI and Anthropic in providing AI solutions to the US government. The offering is available through 2026 and is intended to provide a comprehensive AI platform for federal employees, enabling them to leverage AI for various tasks, from generating multimedia content to creating custom AI assistants.
