Google's AI initiatives are gaining significant traction, with AI Overviews now reaching two billion monthly users. The company's AI Mode, offering comprehensive, conversational responses, has also seen substantial adoption, with 100 million users in the US and India. This AI mode is powered by a custom version of Gemini 2.5.
AI Overviews summarise search content and appear at the top of the page. Google reports increased search usage and user satisfaction with the tool, particularly among younger demographics. AI Overviews are available in over 200 countries and 40 languages. Google has also upgraded the technology behind AI Overviews, which now run on a custom version of Gemini 2.5.
AI integration, particularly through Gemini, is boosting search ad revenue and cloud growth. Google is also using AI to enhance shopping, content discovery and ad targeting on YouTube.
