Google has launched a new 'Search Live' feature within its AI Mode, enabling users to engage in back-and-forth voice conversations with Google Search. This feature, powered by a custom version of Gemini with advanced voice capabilities, allows for natural follow-up questions and AI-generated audio responses. Users can access Search Live by opting into the AI Mode experiment in Labs and tapping the 'Live' icon in the Google app on Android and iOS. The tool also provides relevant web links and a transcript option for review. Google intends to expand Search Live with camera-based interaction in the coming months, allowing users to show and ask Search about real-time visuals. This conversational approach aims to provide a more interactive and multimodal search experience, positioning Google Search closer to an AI assistant.
