Grammarly has acquired Superhuman, an AI-powered email client, to accelerate its development into an AI productivity platform. Superhuman is known for its features that help users manage emails more efficiently, potentially saving them up to four hours per week. Grammarly aims to integrate Superhuman's technology to create AI agents for email communication.
Superhuman offers features such as AI-powered search, automatic email triage, and the ability to draft and send emails using AI. Grammarly plans to invest further in Superhuman's core experience and develop new ways for AI agents to collaborate across various communication tools. This acquisition aligns with Grammarly's vision of building intelligent agents that work alongside users, enhancing productivity and creativity.
The acquisition follows Grammarly's recent funding and its purchase of Coda, signalling a move towards becoming a multi-product company with a suite of AI-powered workplace tools. Superhuman was last valued at $825 million in 2021 and generates approximately $35 million in annual revenue.
