Google has launched Doppl, an experimental AI-powered application that allows users to virtually visualise themselves in different outfits. Available for both iOS and Android in the US, Doppl lets users upload a full-body photo or select an AI model to act as their digital avatar. Users can then upload images of outfits from various sources, such as social media or screenshots, to see how they look on their avatar.
Doppl uses AI to generate images and videos of the user's avatar wearing the selected clothing, providing a dynamic visualisation of the outfit. Users can save and share their favourite looks with friends. Google has cautioned that Doppl is an early experiment, and the accuracy of fit and appearance may vary. The company intends to gather user feedback to improve the app's features and virtual shopping technologies.
