Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang predicts a tenfold increase in Europe's AI computing capacity by 2027, driven by the construction of over 20 'AI factories'. Speaking at VivaTech 2025 in Paris, Huang outlined Nvidia's plan to expand AI infrastructure across the continent, partnering with local tech and telecom companies. This includes building the world's first industrial AI cloud in Germany, featuring 10,000 GPUs, to support European manufacturers in design, engineering, and robotics. Nvidia is also establishing AI technology centres in multiple European countries to foster AI skills development and research.
These AI factories, powered by Nvidia's Blackwell architecture, will enable European enterprises to develop and deploy custom AI models and agentic applications. Nvidia is collaborating with companies like Mistral AI and telecom providers to deploy AI infrastructure and develop sovereign AI models, ensuring data centres and servers remain within Europe. Huang emphasised the importance of AI as a key infrastructure component, likening it to electricity in previous industrial revolutions, and highlighted its potential to democratise intelligence and drive economic growth across the region.
