Meta and Anduril are collaborating to develop AI-powered extended reality (XR) products for the US military. The partnership aims to create integrated XR solutions that enhance warfighter perception and enable intuitive control of autonomous platforms on the battlefield. This initiative leverages over a decade of investment in advanced hardware, software and AI from both companies. The effort is privately funded and intends to save the US military billions by utilising commercial tech.
The collaboration will integrate role-specific AR/VR interfaces into products, providing soldiers with access to analytical capabilities and real-time battlefield intelligence via Anduril's Lattice platform. This AI-powered command and control system integrates data from numerous sources to enhance tactical decision-making in combat scenarios. Anduril has also been working to transition the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) to soldier-borne mission command, streamlining operations and accelerating delivery timelines.
