Google I/O 2025 showcased new AI features for Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Vids, enhancing productivity and creativity. Gmail gains personalised smart replies that adapt to the user's tone and context, drawing from past emails and Drive files. An inbox clean-up feature will also automate the deletion or archiving of unwanted emails. Google Meet introduces near real-time speech translation, initially in English and Spanish, with more languages to follow, ensuring natural conversations across language barriers.
Google Vids now offers AI avatars, allowing users to create videos by simply uploading a script and selecting an avatar, ideal for support videos and announcements. Users can also convert existing Google Slides into engaging videos, with Gemini AI assisting in generating scripts, voiceovers, and animations. Imagen 4, the latest AI image generator, is integrated into Docs, Slides, and Vids, producing detailed visuals with improved text rendering. These updates aim to streamline workflows and empower users to create compelling content more efficiently.
These AI-powered features are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, with broader availability planned for later this year and next quarter. Google is focusing on practical AI applications to help users achieve their business goals, with Workspace already delivering 2 billion AI assists monthly.
