SoftBank and OpenAI have launched a joint venture, SB OAI Japan GK, to offer enterprise AI solutions in Japan. The joint venture will market 'Crystal intelligence', an AI solution combining OpenAI's technology with SoftBank's implementation and integration support. Crystal intelligence aims to integrate AI into corporate management, enhance productivity, and automate routine tasks.
SoftBank will be the first to adopt and deploy Crystal intelligence internally. This will serve as a proof-of-concept before offering the technology to other Japanese companies in 2026. SoftBank has already created 2.5 million custom GPTs for internal use.
The partnership aims to help Japanese firms modernise and close the digital transformation gap. SoftBank aims to become an AI-native organisation, with employees actively using AI.
