Google has partnered with Reliance Industries to provide Jio users in India with complimentary access to Google AI Pro for 18 months. This collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption across India, aligning with the "AI for All" vision. The offer, valued at ₹35,100 per user, will first roll out to Jio users aged 18-25 with unlimited 5G plans, before expanding nationwide. Users can activate the plan through the MyJio app.
The Google AI Pro plan includes access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro model via the Gemini app, enhanced image and video generation capabilities using Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 AI models, and expanded access to NotebookLM for research. The plan also provides 2 terabytes of Google Cloud storage across Google Photos, Gmail, Drive, and WhatsApp backups.
Reliance Intelligence, as a Google Cloud partner, will enable Indian companies to utilise Google's Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) within India's data boundaries. Reliance will also be the launch partner for Google's Gemini Enterprise platform in India, developing AI agents tailored to local industry needs. This infrastructure aims to bolster India's AI research and enterprise model deployment capabilities across sectors like finance, healthcare, retail, and logistics.
