Users with these languages set as default can now engage with Reddit's AI in a natural question-and-answer format. The AI-powered search is part of Reddit Answers and is powered by a Google AI model.
Reddit's CEO, Steve Huffman, has previously highlighted the platform's increasing focus on search, noting that Reddit's overall search function attracts over 70 million weekly users, with Reddit Answers drawing over 6 million. The company aims to consolidate the search experience, positioning the AI layer as a central point for discovery. This multilingual push places Reddit in competition with other platforms that are focusing on English-first markets.
