The Boring Company's underground transit system, known as the Dubai Loop, is slated to launch in Dubai in 2026. This initiative, in partnership with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), aims to revolutionise urban mobility within the emirate. The initial phase involves a 17-kilometre pilot system featuring 11 stations, designed to transport over 20,000 passengers per hour at speeds reaching 160 km/h.
Utilising electric vehicles within underground tunnels, the Dubai Loop seeks to minimise travel times between key city locations. The project aligns with Dubai's sustainability objectives, offering a cleaner and more efficient alternative to traditional transportation methods while alleviating road congestion. The long-term vision includes expanding the network to accommodate over 100,000 passengers per hour, integrating sustainable technologies to ensure both safety and efficiency.
The Dubai Loop mirrors The Boring Company's existing Vegas Loop, which has transported over two million passengers since 2021. The Vegas Loop is under expansion to include 104 stations and 110 kilometres of tunnels.
