A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed a multi-cloud strategy for elasticity and scale, attributing the strain to an "incredible spike in agentic development" since late 2025. GitHub's COO noted commits are on pace for 14 billion in 2026, a significant increase from 1 billion in 2025.
