What happened
TalentSprint, part of Accenture, announced the winners of its inaugural National AI Olympiad (NAIO) 2025, a national assessment benchmarking AI readiness across India. Kicking off in September 2025, the Olympiad attracted over 20,000 participants from 680+ schools, 460+ colleges, and 820+ organisations, with 60% from Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions. NAIO evaluated participants in Foundation, Advanced, and Professional categories through a two-stage process: an MCQ assessment followed by hands-on projects. Winners were felicitated at the Accenture LearnVantage Conclave 2026.
Why it matters
India's AI talent pipeline gains a national benchmark, providing a uniform metric for AI readiness across academic and professional stages. For educators and curriculum designers, NAIO offers data on skill gaps in areas like Generative AI and Deep Learning, informing program development. For founders and investors, the broad participation, particularly from Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions, indicates a wider, geographically diverse talent pool for future AI initiatives. This aligns with India's broader push to cultivate a strong domestic AI ecosystem.
