Orchard Robotics, an AI-driven agricultural technology company, has secured $22 million in Series A funding to expand its precision agriculture platform. The company's system uses truck-mounted cameras and AI to analyse crop health, providing farmers with detailed insights into their operations.
Founded in 2022, Orchard Robotics aims to address the data gap in farming, where critical decisions are often based on limited manual sampling. The company's technology captures high-resolution images of crops, which are then processed using AI to assess fruit size, colour, and overall health. This data is integrated into a cloud-based platform, enabling farmers to make informed decisions about irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
The funding will be used to expand the team and open a new office. Orchard Robotics' technology is currently deployed on apple and grape farms, with plans to expand to other crops.
