The World Humanoid Robot Games has commenced in Beijing, showcasing advancements in AI and robotics. The three-day event features 280 teams from 16 countries competing in a range of sports and skill-based tasks. Over 500 humanoid robots are participating in events including football, running, boxing, martial arts, and even modelling.
The games include athletic challenges like running and long jump, alongside tasks such as moving materials and sorting drugs. The event aims to push robots from laboratory settings into real-world applications within factories, hospitals, and homes.
China is increasing its investment in AI-powered humanoid robots, with the games serving as a platform to test the latest advancements and application capabilities. The event follows the World Robot Conference, emphasising the development of smarter and more intelligent embodied agents.
