Nvidia is reportedly investing in Reflection AI, an artificial intelligence company that rivals DeepSeek. The funding round totals $1 billion, with Nvidia contributing $500 million. This investment values the New York-based AI start-up at over $4.5 billion.
Other investors in Reflection AI include 1789 Capital and DST Global, each investing $100 million. Reflection AI, founded by ex-Google DeepMind researchers, is developing open-source large language models and autonomous coding agents. The company's coding agent, Asimov, analyses corporate data to generate code.
Reflection AI previously raised $130 million in seed and Series A funding. The company plans to use the funds to expand its engineering teams and advance reinforcement learning for software development. The investment highlights the increasing demand for customisable AI models and the strategic importance of open-source AI development.
