Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, sees significant potential in the Chinese AI market and considers bringing the Blackwell AI chip to China a real possibility. Despite US restrictions, Nvidia is reportedly developing a new AI chip for China based on its Blackwell architecture. Tentatively named B30A, the chip will feature a single-die design, offering about half the computing power of Nvidia's flagship B300.
The B30A will still outperform the H20 model currently available in China. It will incorporate high-bandwidth memory and NVLink for faster data transfer. Nvidia aims to provide samples to Chinese clients for testing as early as next month. This move highlights Nvidia's commitment to maintaining its presence in the Chinese AI hardware market.
Nvidia is also reportedly working on another chip for China, the RTX6000D, focused on AI inference. The company emphasises that all its offerings comply with applicable government approvals and are designed for beneficial commercial use. China's AI market is projected to grow significantly, making it a key focus for Nvidia.
