Arm Holdings has recruited Rami Sinno, previously an AI chip director at Amazon, to advance its in-house chip development initiatives. Sinno's expertise includes the development of Amazon's Tranium and Inferentia chips, which are designed for building and running large-scale AI applications. Arm aims to transition from being a provider of chip intellectual property to creating its own complete chip designs. This strategic hire signifies Arm's commitment to expanding its capabilities and influence in the AI and chip design sectors. The company's plans to develop its own chips were initially revealed in court documents last year, followed by efforts to recruit executives from competing firms.
