Alibaba Group is expanding its AI cloud services by adding data centres in Malaysia and the Philippines. The expansion aims to meet the growing international demand for cloud computing and AI services. The third availability zone in Malaysia became operational on July 1st, while the second zone in the Philippines is scheduled to launch in October.
This infrastructure investment enhances Alibaba Cloud's AI product suite, fostering global partnerships and AI talent development. Alibaba Cloud operates 86 availability zones across 28 regions globally. The company also provides scalable cloud computing products with enhanced disaster recovery, adhering to stringent security standards.
Alibaba Cloud's expansion includes digital training initiatives with global education institutes to cultivate AI expertise. Model Studio, Alibaba's generative AI development platform, is available internationally via Singapore Availability Zones. This platform grants access to the Qwen family of large language models, supporting the creation of custom AI applications.
