Anthropic, the U.S.-based AI company behind the Claude chatbot, is expanding its European presence by creating over 100 new positions across Dublin and London. These roles will encompass sales, engineering, research, and business operations. To lead this initiative, Anthropic has appointed Guillaume Princen, former CEO of Mooncard and Stripe's European expansion leader, as head of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Princen highlighted the increasing demand for advanced AI solutions among businesses as a key driver for this expansion. Claude, Anthropic's chatbot competing with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, is already utilized by major companies such as WPP, BMW, and Novo Nordisk. This growth follows a recent $3.5 billion funding round, elevating the company's valuation to $61.5 billion, with significant investments from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and General Catalyst.
