Investigations revealed that 'ReMi' can reproduce copyrighted material, such as Midnight Oil’s “Beds Are Burning,” suggesting the AI was trained on protected content without consent. The Academy's CEO, Roberto Neri, condemned the tool as unethical and demanded its removal, warning of potential legislative reforms if such practices continue. In Germany, collecting society GEMA has initiated legal action against Suno for similar reasons. This controversy highlights the ongoing tension between AI innovation and intellectual property rights in the music industry.
