Anthropic has launched Claude Sonnet 4.5, its latest AI model, which it claims is its best yet for coding tasks. The company says Sonnet 4.5 outperforms previous models and even some competitors like GPT-5 Codex and Gemini 2.5 Pro on industry benchmarks. It is also more reliable, follows instructions more closely and refactors existing code more effectively.
Sonnet 4.5 excels at autonomous, long-horizon coding tasks, maintaining focus for over 30 hours on complex projects. Anthropic has also released the Claude Agent SDK, providing developers with the tools to build their own agents. Claude Code has been updated with features like context editing and a memory tool, enhancing efficiency and the ability to handle complex problems. The Claude apps now support code execution and file creation directly within the chat interface.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 is available through the Claude API, and integrates with Amazon Bedrock and GitHub Copilot. Pricing remains the same as Claude Sonnet 4, at $3/$15 per million tokens.
