Google is integrating its Gemini AI assistant into Wear OS smartwatches, enhancing functionality across devices from Google, Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus and Xiaomi. This upgrade, rolling out to watches running Wear OS 4 and later, enables more natural voice interactions and deeper integration with apps. Users can activate Gemini by saying "Hey Google", pressing a side button, or tapping the Gemini app icon. Gemini on Wear OS can answer complex questions, summarise emails, create playlists and manage calendar events.
In addition, Circle to Search is gaining an AI Mode, allowing users to ask follow-up questions and delve deeper into search results without switching apps. This feature is accessible via Google Lens on both Android and iOS. Circle to Search now also supports mobile gaming, providing tips and gameplay videos without interrupting the game. AI Overviews within Circle to Search are also improved, offering more visuals and better-structured information.
