Manus, an AI company initially founded in China, is increasing its presence in Singapore by hiring over 20 employees. This expansion coincides with a reduction in operations within Beijing and Wuhan. This strategic shift occurs after the company secured funding from a Silicon Valley investor, signalling a move to tap into international markets and computing resources.
The relocation of its headquarters to Singapore aims to mitigate the impact of US investment restrictions on Chinese AI companies amidst escalating US-China AI competition. The company's AI agent, which debuted in March 2025, can autonomously handle complex tasks like resume filtering and stock analysis. Manus is actively recruiting AI engineers, data scientists, and software development managers in Singapore. The company also intends to establish a Tokyo office to further expand into markets including the US, Japan, and the Middle East.
