Microsoft has recruited over 20 staff from Google's DeepMind to bolster its artificial intelligence division. This move aims to sharpen Microsoft's competitive edge in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
The recruited talent will contribute to Microsoft's AI health division, focusing on consumer health applications. Key individuals joining Microsoft include Dominic King, former head of DeepMind's health unit, and Christopher Kelly, a clinical research scientist from DeepMind.
Mustafa Suleyman, previously a co-founder of DeepMind and now CEO of Microsoft AI, is spearheading this initiative. Suleyman's team will concentrate on enhancing Copilot and other consumer AI products, leveraging existing AI models to create practical applications.
