Huawei is reportedly seeking to expand its reach in the AI chip market by exporting limited quantities of its Ascend 910B AI chips to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The company has approached potential customers in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand, offering chips in batches of a few thousand.
While facing production limitations and strong competition from Nvidia, Huawei is also marketing remote access to its CloudMatrix 384 AI system, powered by more advanced domestic chipsets. These next-generation processors are not currently available for export due to supply constraints. The Middle East has become a key battleground for AI chipmakers, with American companies also securing deals in the region.
Domestically, Huawei is focusing on selling its 910C AI chips to Chinese firms facing restricted access to American semiconductor technology. US export controls have effectively barred American chipmakers from the Chinese market, allowing competitors like Huawei to dominate.
