Anthropic has introduced a new feature within its Claude AI chatbot that empowers users to create AI-driven applications directly within the platform. Building upon the existing Artifacts feature, this update allows users to develop interactive apps, tools and games simply by describing their ideas to Claude. The AI then generates the application, embedding its intelligence to make the creations independently smart and responsive.
Artifacts now have their own dedicated space within the Claude app, offering a curated selection of user-created projects for inspiration. Users can create and share their own Artifacts, with no API costs associated. This functionality is available to all users, including those with free accounts, on both mobile and desktop, with full feature access on computers. Examples include games with NPCs that adapt storylines, smart tutors that adjust explanations, and data analysers that answer questions about uploaded spreadsheets.
This move positions Claude as a versatile development platform, making advanced AI features accessible to a broader audience, regardless of their coding expertise. By enabling users to build, iterate and distribute AI-driven utilities within Claude's environment, Anthropic aims to distinguish itself in the competitive AI assistant market.
