OpenAI is developing its first AI consumer device in collaboration with Jony Ive. The company's hardware division io, reunites Ive with former Apple colleagues, backed by OpenAI, could challenge smartphones, wearables and laptops. Mass production is projected for 2027, with assembly potentially in Vietnam to mitigate geopolitical risks.
