Vanguard, the U.S. investment advisor, is partnering with the University of Toronto to establish multiple AI research labs. The collaboration aims to advance AI innovation within the financial services sector. These labs will consist of professors, post-doctoral fellows, and students working alongside Vanguard's AI research team based in Toronto. The initiative will focus on developing AI solutions and insights to address complex business challenges. Initial research areas include responsible AI principles, cognitive AI, autonomous AI agents, and adaptive frameworks for large language model training. This partnership will expand Vanguard's AI team in Toronto to 90 roles and provide internship opportunities for University of Toronto students.
