Seele Inc., the AI-driven 3D game creator backed by Baidu and Meitu, is seeking a fresh round of funding. This comes after a successful Pre-A round in November, where it secured $10 million from investors including Baidu's investment arm and Meitu Inc. The company's valuation is now estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Seele, founded in 2022, specialises in developing 3D multimodal large models. These models enable users to generate interactive 3D content through simple prompts, lowering the barrier to entry for game creation. Wang Shimu, Seele's founder, envisions a future where creating 3D games is as easy as posting on social media. To that end, Seele plans to launch an end-to-end AI large model in July, empowering users without coding experience to create and edit content.
The funds from the previous round are being used for team expansion and the development of a new game AIGC engine. Seele's technology allows users to customise spaces, objects and interactions, creating personalised 3D experiences. The company's long-term strategy involves expanding from lightweight interactive entertainment to more complex 3D interactive experiences, ultimately entering the broader game market.
