Airwallex, a global payments platform, is expanding its presence in Silicon Valley, establishing a dual global headquarters in San Francisco. This move accompanies a recent Series G funding round that raised $330 million, boosting the company's valuation to $8 billion. The $8 billion valuation marks a 30% increase since its Series F funding six months prior.
Airwallex intends to allocate over $1 billion between 2026 and 2029 to scale its U.S. operations, attract talent, and broaden its brand. The company's platform offers solutions for payments, treasury, and spend management. Airwallex possesses 80 licenses across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
With this investment, Airwallex aims to strengthen its position in the U.S. and other key global markets, while also driving AI hiring and product development. The company's revenue has surpassed $1 billion annually, marking a 90% year-over-year increase. Transaction volume has also doubled, exceeding $235 billion annually.
