Lambda, an AI data centre provider, has secured over $1.5 billion in Series E funding led by TWG Global and US Innovative Technology Fund. This investment aims to accelerate the deployment of gigawatt-scale AI factories and supercomputers to meet the increasing demand from hyperscalers, enterprises, and labs focused on building superintelligence. Lambda specialises in delivering large-scale AI factories that support mission-critical training and inference, addressing the rising demand for compute and the scarcity of data centre space.
Lambda's CEO, Stephen Balaban, stated that the funding will enable the development of gigawatt-scale AI factories that power services used by hundreds of millions of people daily. The company's mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and bring the power of AI to every person. Thomas Tull, Co-Chairman of TWG Global and Chairman of USIT, expressed confidence in Lambda's ability to solve the challenge of generating enough compute power for AI. Lambda's specialisation in AI stems from its machine learning founders and pioneering work in cloud supercomputers.
