What happened
Military forces are integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into operations, introducing Autonomous Weapon Systems (AWS) capable of independent military actions post-activation. Specifically, Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems (LAWS) independently select and engage targets via sensor suites and algorithms. The U.S. military currently permits the development and deployment of LAWS, expanding autonomous capabilities in threat identification, vehicle guidance, intelligence, and battle preparation.
