Google has launched a new Gemini-powered feature called 'Help me schedule' in Gmail and Google Calendar, designed to streamline the process of arranging one-on-one meetings with external contacts. When Gmail detects an attempt to coordinate a meeting via email, a 'Help me schedule' button appears. Upon clicking, Gemini suggests suitable time slots based on the user's calendar availability and the context of the email.
Users can customise these suggestions before inserting them into the email. Once the recipient selects a time, a calendar invite is automatically generated and added to both parties' calendars. This feature is designed for individual scheduling, not group meetings, and aims to reduce the back-and-forth emails typically involved in finding a mutually convenient time. The rollout began in October 2025 for Google Workspace Business Standard, Plus, Enterprise Starter, Standard, Plus, Google AI Pro for Education, Google AI Pro and Ultra, and Gemini Business and Enterprise users.
This update is part of Google's ongoing effort to integrate Gemini AI into its core services, enhancing productivity and task management across various applications. By automating the scheduling process, Google aims to alleviate a common workplace frustration and make it easier for users to coordinate their schedules efficiently.
